Reading Dads

Hi all,

It’s Ladybird Dad back again. With the summer holidays well and truly upon us and the daily task of amusing and delighting the little ones at the forefront of our minds, what better time to be reading with the kids!

If like me, you’ve also been lucky enough to have some time off work to spend with them, no doubt they’ve kept you busy and you’re back at work for a rest! Mine loved dragging me around the zoo, which has quickly become one of their favourite places.  With this new found love of all things zoo-related (including elephant poo!) they soon had me reading anything and everything to do with animals.  Favourites have included Topsy and Tim Go to the Zoo and, having made several multi-legged friends in the zoo’s Bug Room, my son won’t be parted from his Mad about Bugs book from the Ladybird Minis series.

So keep up the good work Dads and don’t forget to visit the Book of the Week section which will give you inspired ideas for more reading to the kids and if the great British weather let’s you down, then take the opportunity to hole up indoors and get stuck into a good book with the family.

See you soon,

Ladybird Dad
